Dunlop's Restaurant Victorian brand concept, design development and project production.
Dunlop’s restaurant in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 was named after Henry Dunlop (1844-1930) who was the figure behind the construction of the Lansdowne Road stadium.
The design concept for this restaurant, on the new Dublin 4 campus of a global tech company, was inspired by the rich visual language of Victorian Dublin which included ornate stained glass windows and mosaic tile work. As a large number of staff are from overseas, the idea of Dublin's Victorian heritage was the chosen theme.
Working with Dublin's best artisan craftspeople we used traditional methods to adapt the Dunlops logo to stunning original pieces including a 5 metre x 2.5 metre stained glass window and a 3 metre wide logo mosaic. The project also included a series of signage,
way finding and information graphics telling the story of Victorian Dublin.
While the main artwork pieces were installed in July 2020, the completion of the project was put on hold due to Covid 19 restrictions in Ireland and wasn't fully completed until late 2021.
Design development of Dunlops restaurant branding included all stages from rough concepts through design development to finished approved design and artwork.
Production stage included sourcing, appointing and working with artisan craftspeople and suppliers through all stages of production and supervision of installation.
Brand guidelines, colour palette options, and other assets were developed including signage, historical information panels, way finding and packaging concepts.
